![]() Season; Fall Temperature; 37oF-68oF The season has just changed to fall, and the leaves are starting to turn colors. The sunny days are slipping to cloudy overcast, and sometimes even a light drizzle. Prey is growing a tad more scarce, but the bigger animals are still hanging around in abundance. Fall weather can be pleasant, although temperatures average 10 to 20 degrees lower than summer readings--highs in the 40s to 60s / 5 - 20° C. Over night temperatures can fall into the teens and single digits / -10° to -20° C. Snowstorms increase in frequency and intensity as the weeks go by. Sudden storms can cause a drop in temperature or result in precipitation and may result in cold temperatures, snow and/or temporary road closures. |

![]() Breeding; Yes Whelping; No The season is ripe for breeding! Wolves may be taking mates now and begin bonding with each other, but the actual process will probably be delayed until winter. Few wolves can resist the temptation of trying to find a mate in this season, and even a few of the infected wolves have it on their minds. So as the canines ready themselves for another year of pregnancy and pup-rearing, it's best that they try to avoid any signs of the virus; who knows what that might do to future young. |
